Immovable?

1 Sep

immobile

Marilyn Marionette’s life is not much different from the woman who inspired her look. Getting pulled in so many different directions as if someone else controls her life…sigh

First day of Sept! Which means we’re only ten days away from my birthday. Yes. Exciting times. Honestly,  it feels like I just celebrated my last birthday…where does the time go…ah well.. here’s to hoping for an amazing new year to come!

Hope you go visit her sometime she’s a little lonely. What in the world is Mojizu you ask?

I don’t know really know myself…but I saw monsters and I wanted to “play” too…

HAPPY Loopy FRIDAY!

Backyard Fun!

5 Aug

I’ve been spreading myself out this week between working on illos (and let’s not forget twittering, facebook stalking etc.) and trying to gather ideas for my neighbor’s (who are also some very great friends) birthday in which we’re holding in our back yard. When it comes to party planning I lack the knack for details, after all my initial ideas of a backyard party have always been beer+friend(s)= great party! But after a couple days spent on surfing various blog sites for outdoor entertaining it’s really difficult for you not to be inspired by some of their visuals. Here are a few of my fave home & garden deco sites so far ( in no particular order):

Style Me Pretty

The Party Dress

Now, I’m not expecting my dingy little back yard would somehow transform itself to any of these lavishly wonderful visuals, but it definitely has inspired me to add a little bit more to the ambiance other than a cool 12 pack. I’ll try to post up pics from the festivities next week.

If you know of any other places of inspiration send them over! I love love love me some eye candy. Happy Thursday!

BOOM Baby BOOM

26 Jul

Babies babies babies!

Seems like everyone I know right now are either newly weds or proud parents to be or both. And here I am at 28 (yrs old) barely able to take care of a cat who seems to be developing some sort of a tick as I type sigh

Very exciting times!! Especially for two very awesome people I know who are going to be proud parents of a baby boy due in a couple months! I hope mom and dad enjoy this little welcome gift for baby Jaiden. Can’t wait to meet him.

Want a personalized copy of this print? Market version coming soon at the good ole Etsy Beautique. Stay tuned. Can’t wait? Email me at ninarose(dot)m(at)gmail(dot)com and I’d be happy to set somethin’ up for you . Until then Happy Monday!

Breakfast

20 Jul

Ahh yes! My ideal breakfast on a typical Saturday morning. But nowadays, this type of meal would only be served on special occasions (especially after a very heavy night of drinking) since it’s not exactly the healthiest of combos to start off with. (Yes in our household canned and processed meat deserves a special occasion) But gosh darnit, there’s nothing like waking up to the smell of rice, spam, and eggs (and hot sauce) in the morning!

What’s your ideal breakfast?

Tree plus Tree equals Tree

6 Jul

Giant Birds and the Trees, that’s where baby mangoes come from.

Had the pleasure of working on a quite special and personalized illustration for the past couple of weeks. So much fun working on this! Trees are one of my favorite subjects to draw even though I rarely get to draw’em. With the clients very impressive art direction we were able to take two previous roughs and basically mesh their attributes together to create our super awesome tree final.  I don’t know where my head was during the coloring phase of this illo but this would’ve made for an awesome video. Ah well. Next time.

Bodies of Paisley

24 Jun

A quickie for this week’s Illustration Friday.  I know its a little late but better late than never. This was actually inspired by a seat made of oddly positioned pandas (see below) by Estudio Campana in Brazil. How my mind took it to this direction…I have no clue. Hah!

I’ve been working on things I hope to be able to post up soon! Can’t wait. Until then have fun trying to analyze this out-of-element sketch.

Happy Happy Thursday kids!!!

A ‘Lil Rain and Ripple

11 Jun

a rippled raincoat for a rainy day.

Somethin’ quick and fun this week. April showers came late this year in NY…Can’t wait for warmer days. Happy Weekend!

I’ve Clamed Up!

10 Jun

MmM! Follow that trail of steam!

Holy lack of updates! Sorry for that. I’m back now.

I’m excited to report I’ve been busy working on my very own children’s book entitled “The Clam” (working title…feel free to suggest any title ideas!) Which is my very own twist to an old Filipino Folk Tale about orphans who come across a magical clam that gives them all the food, clothing and necessities they need (like a room full of gold)…but there’s a greedy king in the mix who might have a thing or two to say about…a thing or two..

Glad to be back! More to come soon…Happy Thursday kids!
