As a child Nina Mata loved getting lost in fairy tales and her drawings (which were mostly about her long lost mermaid family). Nina took that love for drawing and attended the High School of Art & Design where she concentrated in Commercial Arts. After graduating high school she further pursued a career in Illustration at The Fashion Institute of Technology. During her freshman year of undergrad she was offered an internship position as an editorial assistant for Sesame Workshop where she discovered her passion producing artwork for kids. Since then, Nina has produced artwork for a variety kids apps and childrens books. She is mostly known for her use of rich colors and depicting genuine emotions. She currently lives in her hometown of Queens, NY with her husband, their newborn daughter and Tabitha, the cat.
